The Anthropos is an ongoing compilation of work investigating the grotesque and the human, these exercises result from my love of art history and evidence of my "artistic lineage". I habitually build them because I love ancient masks, Francis Bacon paintings, Alberto Giacometti sculptures, Max Ernst's gnarled landscapes, and Jorge Luis Borges "Funes the Memorious". There is this incredible alleged quote from Picasso upon seeing photographs from Lascaux for the first time, "we have invented nothing."
we have invented nothing
we have invented nothing
